Has anyone had any luck adding new key fobs to their car? I lost a key fob and ordered two new ones. On page 2-7 of the owner's manual are instructions "to match a new transmitter to their vehicle when a recognized transmitter is not available." I followed the instructions, but item 6 (The DIC message will display OFF-ACCESSORY TO LEARN) never appears. Is there a trick to turning the key five times?
I checked previous threads, and no one has given the secret yet.
I think those might be the Canadian instructions since my owners manual says I only need one. In any case, I even tried to just add the new key fobs to the one I already have and can't do it. The DIC is maddeningly blank!!

Anyone have any other suggestions?
These are right from the GM shop manual so unless this is wrong (which I doubt) this is the procedure. It would make sense you need both or what would stop a valet from making a third fob.

right it says you need both original FOBs. Also if you lost one I would want the dealer to reprogram the ones you now have so the lost one is no longer valid.
PS: your welcome

Get ready to spend some bucks.my wife took her 2003 Pontiac Grand Am to dealer to get a new remote transmitter.....46 bucks for transmitter (not a bad price) But 110 bucks to program it .............the Dog

If you give the valet the FOB only and not the key then another FOB cannot be programmed.
The manual says two recognized transmitters are required for Canadian owners. Only one FOB should be needed to program another for US cars. I wonder if he has a Corvette built for Canada?

I stand corrected, here is the procedure for US vehicles (it was on the prior page)
