Polished C6 wheels
Hi All,
Can anyone tell me if the polished C6 wheels have any type of powder coating to protect them from dulling over time? I'm torn between keeping my polished wheels or getting them chromed.

The polished wheels are clear coated, but I don't think they are available right now since the wheel manufacturer went bankrupt. I think the painted silver wheels are your only option right now. By the way they are already cloudy before they clearcoat them. They are poorly done. I have them. From a distance they look fine, but up close they are cloudy. Good Luck!

I was very disapointed in my polished wheels when I first got them. Now I'm really glad that I didnt exchange or purchase chromes. The polished look great from a distance and I wish they were a little shinnier but I also feel the chromes are too much bling for the car. The longer I have the polished the better I like them

I was fortunate enough get polished wheels with my C6 without the milky clearcoat. Unless you're just not happy with yours, I would keep them. Worst case situation down the road, you have them stripped, re-polished and new clearcoat. Then they're better than ever.

Thanks all, I do have the polished wheels and I did not notice a milky color. I do think I will keep the polish since I'm afraid that the chrome will look too bling on my VR C6

My guess is that the milky look comes from the clearcoat- I've seen many tons of aluminum in my career in various degrees of polish, and none of it had that milky look. Unfortunately, the polished wheels are probably clearcoated using some GM spec, and so when they get a new manufacturer the look will probably be the same.
Purely personal taste, but on the C6 I don't like the chrome or chrome-look wheels, at least not with Victory Red. As others have posted, too much bling for my taste. But my wife says my taste is in my feet...
