Default NCM Delivery for Dealer In-Stock Vette?

If you find the vette with the options you want on a dealers lot, is it still possible to have it shipped to NCM to do the NCM delivery/tour? If the dealer is out of state anyway, wouldn't it be just as easy to ship the car to Bowling Green as it is to ship to another dealer for courteousy delivery at some other chevy dealer?

Has anyone out there had a vette that was in stock at the dealer shipped to NCM to do the NCM delivery in Bowling Green?

I hear such great things about the NCM delivery, but thinking I could cut some time off of the ordering process if car is already built, but shipped to BG for delivery.

Do you know if NCM will do this?

Happy Holidays!!!

Unfortunately it doesn't work like that. As far as I know, you have to order the car, then go to BG to pick it up when it's ready. NCM gets the car about a week ahead of time, and preps the car for delivery.

Interesting thought though. But assuming NCM would agree to it, you would have to PAY to have the car shipped back to BG, to NCM, give them time to redo the"prep" the dealer did(scarey thought ).

I would suggest you contact Gary at NCM and ask him. He is in charge of the delivery program.

Next time, order your vette, including that option. NCM delivery is one of the most memorable experiences of my adult life.

You can always drive your car to the museum after arranging for the "NCM Xperience". Not quite the same but certainly the next best thing.

I did the NCM Xperience with my '03. You can't do it on a current model year vette. You'll have to wait until the next model year vette is being produced. It is the next best thing to R8C for those of us who can't wait to custom order a vette.

Default Try this for an alternative!

from the Corvette Museum website:
http://www.corvettemuseum.com/experience/index.shtml

Corvette owners now have the opportunity to participate in the "NCM Xperience" - a new program that offers owners a unique experience with their Corvette at the National Corvette Museum. Corvette owners can schedule a special visit to the Museum, where their Corvette receives an exterior cleaning and is then displayed on the floor of the Museum delivery area, similar to the highly requested R8C Program.

Guests are given a VIP plant tour and Museum tour as part of the program, and are also given a one-year individual membership to the Museum, commemorative plaque, silver decal recognizing participation in the program, and an individual photograph in front of the Museum - weather permitting.

Program participants also have the opportunity to purchase special merchandise showcasing the "NCM Xperience" logo and can purchase bricks in a special commemorative section. The cost to participate in the "NCM Xperience" program is $350 for the entire experience.
Deliveries can also be viewed world-wide via our live webcams. "We are thrilled to be able to offer a program like this to the Corvette community," states Guest Services Manager, Gary Cockriel. "With the success of our R8C Delivery Program, which offers new Corvette buyers the opportunity to take delivery of new Corvettes at the Museum, we truly feel a program like this will offer Corvette owners an opportunity to share in the excitement of it all."

Whether you want to present your spouse with a Corvette as a gift, or pass your Corvette down to your son, the "NCM Xperience" creates an opportunity to celebrate that special occasion.

Additional information on the "NCM Xperience" is available by calling Gary Cockriel at (800) 53-VETTE or by e-mail at gary@corvettemuseum.com. The program is only offered for Corvettes and excludes current model year vehicles. Participants may also purchase replica build sheets, window stickers and dealer brochures if available, during the program presentation.

NCM delivery is actually an option (option code is R8C) you choose when your order your new car. Since you would be purchasing an already built car you would not be able to do the NCM Delivery. But as others have mentioned you can do the NCM Xperience instead. If you're looking at a 2006 you would have to wait until the 2007s are being produced for the car to be eligible to do an Xperience. If, however, it is a 2005 vette then it is ready for an Xperience when you are! If you want more specifics check out the NCM website or PM me and I'll send you more info.
