Came back from eating out yesterday and parked it in the garage like I always do. My Wife came in after feeding the Horses and asked me if the green light on the button you use to start the car was supposed to be on. I went out and sure enough it was on, along with the interior lights. After trying everything I could think of, I disconacted the battery and then re-conected it. Did not work. The car is sitting in the garage now with the battery disconected. A couple of weeks ago I experienced DBS, now this. Anybody else out there have the same experience?
Anyway, I hope everyone out there in Corvette land has a MERRY CHRISTMAS
I think you might have turned on the courtesy lights with the switch on the left side of the dash, just press it in..
No I did not leave the courtesy lights on, the ignition would not shut itself off. I would put it in reverse, set the brake, turn it off, the doors would unlock, I would get out, shut the door, come back in 10 minutes, and the ignition and lights would be on. This morning, after Santa came, I went out and conected the battery. The car locked itself and the ignition finaly turned off. After having no problems with 6 C5s, this car is beginning to make me very unhappy. Without these problems, the car is the best Corvette I have ever owned. I think it might be a little too high tech.
This happened to me once because I accidently turned the courtesy lights on or a map light on (I've done both). I can't remember which actually solved the problem. The issue is complicated by the fact that the interior lights do not turn off immediately when you close the door, even when they are being operated normally by the door switch. You have to wait around to see if it's going to lock (7-8 seconds), and it takes a little trial and error to see if the lights are going to shut off automatically. The best policy is to not walk away until you find the source of the problem.
A good way to verify proper lock/alarm set operation is to use the manual lock button on the FOB. If the green light on the ignition switch remains on after you (attempt to) manually lock the car, you have some interior lights turned on...the car is set up to think you are IN the car when the interior lights are on, therefore the green light doesn't go out. Well, I guess it's SUPPOSED to time out eventually without running the battery down, but I never put it to the test.

The problem is that you has a six speed, you must always park it in reverse otherwise all the electrionics stay on if you leave it in any other gear. I hope this helps you and all others.
Ahhh The wonders of modern technology, A regular key just wasn't good enough for GM...... Thats what you get. Wait till this car gets a few years under its belt it will be a service nightmare JMO.

Thats what happened to me a while back and I needed to ask for help. I don't know how I could of hit that switch but somehow I did. At least that was my problem.
I had the identical problem. Took a hour to figure it out. I had opened the truck earlier that day and even though it looked latched, it wasn't. The minute I re-closed the trunk everything ran as normal and I was able to get the map lights and ignition button off. Try it.

I had a similar problem with my 06. I wrapped the fobs in tin foil and put them as far away in the house as I could, etc. After resetting the map lights, both doors and the hatch, it finally went to "sleep".
I had a simialr experience one day and finally discovered that a fob was in the car. It had fallen out of my pants pocket and gotten hung up under the seat where I couldn't easily see it.

Thanks, that's what happened. I had the top off and when I put it back on, I must not have closed the hatch good enough. I'm glad you read the whole post. It seems a few thought that I had just left the inside lights on.
Try pushing in the dash light dimmer and the map lights should go off. I had this happen the first day that I got the car and I had to refer to the manual to figure it out.
