I've just jacked up my C6 using the jacking points located at each corner of the frame perimeter. My jack has a pad that is slightly larger than the oval ressed cut out and when jacking at these point, the surrounding metal (not the body plastic) bent up slightly. If I had used those nylon jacking pucks it would not have happened. Anyway is it a big deal that the surrounding metal flattened (bent up) a tad or does it not matter in the least. I hate to think I'm damaging my vert with just 1k miles on the clock! Anybody else had this happen? I would have thought that it was ok to jack anywhere as long as it's below those jacking points even if it does include the surrounding metal by 1/8th of an inch or so?
Probably no big deal if not noticible and no cracks. Post some pics. Then check out the pucks from Elite Engineering. Beautiful - good garage decoration even if you don't use them!
Doubtful it did anything beyond cosmetic damage although I'd still look for any cracking. The owners manual does not say to jack from those points, it uses crossmember points for jacking although I've yet to find a jack that would fit under to those points. Using the rail jacking points is for a four point lift. To use those points, you need the jacking pucks or old hockey pucks to not damage the car.

I keep a set of the the Elite Engineering pucks in one of the rear storage compartments just in case I need to jack up the car. They work great and like CMB13 says, they look great! http://www.eliteengineeringusa.com/C6jacking-pads.html
Thanks for the advice and the Elite Engineering jacking pucks look great quality. So it would seem to be ok to lift the car at these points even when using a puck without twisting the frame or doing any other kind of damage just to say remove a wheel etc I guess?
I personally jack from the front or rear, and use those places with the pucks for my jack stands. I don't like the twisting that occurs when jacking from the pucks.
HOCKEY PUCK....no joke....stop in any local sporting goods store & pick up a couple of hockey pucks...99 cents each! They don't have the extension to insert into the frame rail slot, but it's no big deal to center the puck under the frame rail jacking point as you raise your floor jack. They work & they're CHEAP!
Can you jack up a C6 with the doors closed, or do they have to be unlatched?
I don't think it makes a difference cos the car has a perimeter frame.
I opened the drivers door when mine was jacked up at the front rail and noticed no binding with the door latch at all.

Have you taken delivery and used the Jack you order off of Ebay? Thats a really nice Jack. Let us know how well it works jacking the car from the front.

if it will make you sleep better....my four frame points already looked a little tweaked right from the factory...i thought that i caused the minor damage till i looked the other points that i didn't use...they all looked the same...strange
