Mounted my V1 to my mirror using Great Lakes mirror mount.Very happy with it but a word of caution.Check the connection between the mount and the V1 bracket periodically.Vibration must have caused mine to loosen.Luckily I saw the V1 start to drop and made a good catch. If not it might have pulled out my quick connect wiring or damaged the V1 when it fell.

I've the same bracket but use it for the Escort 8500, love it.
Discreet, out of the way & in direct line of vision to the rear view mirror where a readout's instantly seen.
On my C5 I used the suction cups (hardwired to ECM) & the thing was at the top of the windshield, out of my line of sight.
If I played music too loud I wouldn't always notice it was sounding an alarm, & that was no good.
Noticed if I bent up the bracket part the detector hangs from, it increases the "grip" of the detector so vibration cannot work it off.

Well, you might as well duct tape a catcher's mitt to your console, because when summer gets here, you won't be fast enough to catch your detector all the time. (Hey, TeamSpeed, where's that detector bracket? )
I just played catcher last night after giving a friend the 0-60 feeling. I'm thinking some black electrical tape to fatten up the mount's tab is in order.
I use it with the Escort 8500. No problems with it falling off, but I was glad that I held the bracket up to the mirror with the detector attached before I glued it into place. It had the detector pointing out to right field. I used a vise and a pair of channel-locks to make the adjustment.

They replaced the backing tape for me. No more problems
