Be careful about your GPS/Nav. I've heard reports not to use metallic films. Some will say "not a problem" but i've heard that transponder companies say this, so it must reduce some signal, yours may work, but your signal may be stronger with non-metallics...
Its just a warning to you, its just stuff I've read and the tinter that I talked to also mentioned it.
I had the back window tinted on my first C6, the guy did an awesome job on it, but I did not like the way the area with the small holes (defroster) looked like. The tint does not stick around these areas. i have yet to see one that is completely done wihout this issue. As for having the job done one piece or two piece does does not matter as long as you don't see the cut. Most guys that do the two piece know what they are doing. The problem with the glass is the curves as i have heard are what the tint guy has to deal with. I haven't tinted the car I currently have, still undecided....
From: Austin, Texas Codes 660, 9448, and 295660 work in the C6 navigation unit. No DVD playback yet.
I'm also told the rear window on C6's is much harder than the one on the C5. Apparently, the compound curves are tighter.
Either way, if I had it to do again, I'd probably just have them do the window in two pieces. If it's hidden in the defroster line properly, you don't notice it, and I think the tint would look a little better.
Mine has some iridescent heat marks from the extreme heating they had to apply to get it to bend properly. Not noticeable all the time, or even most of the time, but every once in a while, I do see it.
Whatever you do do not let them sand down the dot matrix!!! I was told that this was a common practice when I had my C5 rear tinted and they scratched the glass everywhere
The tint can be layed properly over the dots without having to be sanded... I have seen it done. Just be careful Is my advice to anyone who is thinking about tinting the back window.

What is the purpose of the "dots"? When I first saw my C6 in the sun I thought it looked liked a bad tint job.
Mine has some iridescent heat marks from the extreme heating they had to apply to get it to bend properly.
Those marks come from the cold air blast nozzles that rapidly cool the part after press bending or heat sagging in a mold. The rapid cooling develops the "temper" in the glass. Polarized sun glasses will reveal those marks in the door glass also. The glass in the windshield is not tempered.

The trick is to let it dry out. Right now mine looks like crap. But I will go back in 2 weeks and they will push it all out. I told the tinter if it's not perfect he can take it off himself.
Same thing happened with my buddy's Fbody, and he got it all out.
