Parking Light Indicator

Is it just me or does anyone else find the green indicator light on the dash panel to let you know the parking lights are on is a really stupid and unnecessary feature?

I'm currently awaiting my C6 hence this question. Aren't the DRL's always on? If so, why would you need an indicator to tell you they're on?

I'm Ok with the indicator, just wish you could tell if the parking lights only are on or both parking and headlights...... same indicator either way now.

Well, in many states it is illegal to drive with just the parking lights on, so a warning lamp is justified. But OTOH, it is stupid to have them on when you're parked, since their only purpose then is to run the battery down (you've got hazard flashers if you have to stop at the side of the roadway). So the better question might be, why do cars have parking lights anyway?

I have watched this thread for a few days and I could not remember my indicator lamp being on so I checked it out today. It is not on when the DRL are on. I have my headlamps set on auto and the DRL are on and when the headlamps come on the DRL goes off.

Well guys, my green Parking Light indicator stays on all the time with the headlights on. First car I've ever owned that needs to let me know the parking lights are on with the headlights.
