Default Door alignment problem...

I noticed that my driver's door was a little more difficult to close than passenger's door and upon further inspection, I found the the door latch is not aligned with the latch perfectly and thus rubbing on the lower portion of the latch opening. See pics. Is the door out of alignment or the latch? Any idea on how to correct this?

I would take it to your dealer and have them align the door. No sense messing with it while it's under warranty.

OK, first get a really big hammer...just kidding! I can tell the striker is draging on the latch from your pics. You can adjust the striker by loosening same and repositioning it a little higher than it currently is. If I remember correctly it is a T40 torx head. However, a quality body tech (presumably at the dealer???) should be able to adjust the stiker in a couple of minutes. This type of problem is minor but should have never gotten out of the plant!

I almost forgot, the striker might need to be shimmed out from its current position as well as raised. GM has a part number for the shims or a body shop should have them laying around.
