I'll probably get this thread bounced, and though I am not quoting Madonna.
I've had my c6 on my lift for over a month, and driving a jeep daily. Well, it was warm and dry enough on new years day, so I dropped it down and took it out for a spin.
Wow! Not driving it for a while, you forget how sweet it is!
As a chicago resident I am jealous of those of you in the south or in California (when its not raining) that can enjoy your vette year round.
Well its back in the air, cover on, and trickle charger connected until this spring (or a warm day real soon).
Glad to hear you got to take it for a ride. I'd love to do that, too. However, I made the decision this year to drop the collision coverage (thereby saving $$$ to apply to the purchase of more mods) and let them sleep for the winter.
I used to do that with my car... I'd leave it in the garage covered up and drive my beater truck. Then hopping back in the vette felt simply amazing. This fall I went 2 weeks w/o driving the Z06 and I just realized that the car is being wasted. I drive it almost every day rain/shine and have over 52k on mine now. If it's been freshly detailed I'll keep it out of the rain, but once dirty bring it on.
I can relate. I work up north for 3, 4 months at a whack. Its really impressive the first couple times I drive it on my return. As an aside I love this car more today then when I bought it 14 months ago. First car I have ever owned where I can say that.
I'm in Chicago too and it looks like later in the week it should be sunny and dry. I'm itching to drive mine so I'm driving it to work at least one day this week.

I generally live by that motto...particularly during the decent months, my vette is my daily driver, rain or shine. I am lucky enough to have a new jeep with a v8, and it is actually fun to drive in a different way. As for the vette, I park in the boonies, but generally I get my monies worth out of it, by driving it as often as possible. Particularly when it comes to running errands...I find myself driving two towns away for a store 1/2 a mile away.

Gee wiz, from Elmhurst to St. Charles just for a candy bar ? That's dedication.

fyi...your agent will give you an occasional 1 day pass.. just don't bug the sh8t out of him.
This winter, like the last one, has been so mild, snow wise, I debated even putting into storage. Once I did in mid-December, I took out again in late January and drive it on days when there is snow or ice on the pavement, quite a common occurrence this winter in the Chicago area. More and more, I think - just drive it!
