Re: C6 Engine Location (GUMPA)
I think it would be nice if the C7 is a mid-engined car, but they're too far into the C6 development to switch now. There have been several mid-engineed Corvette prototypes in the past, most recently around '89... Corvette Indy.

Re: C6 Engine Location (GUMPA)
Actually, C5s are already mid engine. Open your hood, and you'll see how far back the engine is in the chassis. It's actually behind the centerline of the front wheels, which makes it a "front-mid-engine" car.
I remember all the car magazine remarked on it in 1997, but everyone quickly forgot about it.

Re: C6 Engine Location (GUMPA)
No hints from GM that mid-engine placement is a consideration. The Vette will continue its tradition of being front engine. Besides, doesn't the car have 51/49 weight distribution? Sounds like good balance to me.

Either would be ok with me. Zora himself wanted a mid engine.

Engine placement anywhere but the front would go against Corvette tradition.
