Default Subwoofer Pics

I thought I would share some pics of my new subwoofer I had installed.

Subwoofer Pictures

I stayed with the factory NAV head unit and just upgraded my speakers and added a couple Amps behind the passenger seat.

I had Ultimate Electronics do the install and enclosure fabrication. They installed Alpine Components in the doors and rear pillars. I went with Alpine SPX107R 2-ways, SPX17MB mid-bass, in the front doors (3 speakers each door), and the Alpine SPX137R 5.25" components (5.25 woofer and separate 1 inch tweeter) in the read pillars. I'm powering the speakers with an Alpine F545 amp.

The Subwoofer is a 10" Image Dynamics powered by an Alpine M301 amp.

Sounds great, I definately needed to add the subwoofer to fill in the bass since the 5.25 components and mid-bass woofers don't really help there.

I think the installer did and excellent job with the fibreglass enclosure, he even color matched the carpet and "curved" the fibreglass to reflect the curves of the hatch area.

And now that I've upgraded the NAV to play MP3's I believe I'm set.....for awhile at least.

Nice fabrication. Will it have a grill?

The installer said he could frabricate something. But I'm going to leave it as is. The roof fits perfect over the top of it, so I just need to be careful putting stuff in the hatch. You can't see the sub when the hatch is closed either, so I'm not too worred about anyone busting in.

Very nice, does it use the space in the compartment below? Get a grill, it will look better and protect it. try this place link

From the pics, it looks like adding a grill might interfere with the fitting of the top. It looks like there is almost zero room as it is without the grill. No?

I may have to get one custom made. There is less than a 1/4 inch clearence between the speaker and the roof bracket. Yes, the installer had to remove the box and lid that was in that corner. He made a fibreglass tub that fills that space now to get the correct "air" space for the sub.

How much did it cost you to get the sub box created? I love that design and would love to get one made. PM or email me please.

labor was 670.00 plus materials: cable, carpet, fibreglass, fuses, noise elimitors, etc. total was around $800. I could have done it for about 1/2 that price it he made it out of wood. But fibreglass totally seals the encloser and give a better bass sound. the installer even went to a carpet store to match the material in the C6.

$800. labor was $670, plus all the material, making the fibreglass enclosure, installing an amp behind the seat, going out and purchasing matching carpet, and hooking everything up.
