A set of take-off 2.73s from an A4 might be just the ticket.
And the best part is those old 2.73s were virtually WORTHLESS and plentiful once removed/replaced on C5s/C6s, people couldn't even give them away so they might be readily available.
Only problem is the 2006 rear has been upgraded/updated as well so there could be fitment issues.
I should be going to Las Vegas Motor Speedway 1-27!
I have about 2,500 miles on my week old A6, I took her up to the mountains and ran the Gtech she ran 13.0 at 116 details 2,500 feet, 37psi, TC off with some tirespin, trans in S automatic mode.
With my old Syclone the Gtech was always within a tenth and 2 mph higher than the track Gtech reads mph at the end of the 1/4 and the track avgs the last 60 feet.

37 psi!! You can probably pick up a tenth or two by dropping the pressure to 30psi, where it's supposed to be.

I think you are correct but with the low low stall it seems with the little bit of tire spin I get to the power sooner... need to do some more testing.
Do you run your cold psi below 30? I set mine at 34, 37 was hot.

Admittedly, I have a C5, but the doorjamb sticker says 30psi cold. I used that as a starting point, but was getting center wear in the rears, so I adjusted them. I now run 30 front/28 Rear cold. When the track opens up again in the spring, I'm going to try dropping the rears a few more pounds (only at the track) as my new headers have upped my power to near LS2 levels.
Check your doorjamb for the load and tire sticker. I'll bet it is around 30. While overinflating your tires will give you some spin off the line, it will give you less traction once you hook up, and probably in the corners, as well. It will also lead to the excess wear in the center of the tires.

Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
