Just got a message from SLP, the company that did the Camaro SS and Firehawk, they want to use my C6 for developement work for a new intake package. They used my SS several times for a few items. They will need the car for a few days and it will be on the dyno several times. You also keep whatever upgrades they are working on. I guess it's one of the few benifits of living a couple of miles away from them in Toms River,NJ and knowing Ed hamburger since the 60's. I will post the dyno numbers when I get them.

They have a real good reputation. You're very fortunate. I'll be interested in their numbers.

Yes and no. I put their cat back exhaust on my last Camaro and the darn thing ran into the parking brake cable bracket. I grumbled to them and drove down and they made it right. The technician told me they hadn't anticipated that problem.

The big complaint I have with them is their "up to x HP improvement" claims. They mod a bigger motor to be a deep breather then compare stock to their aftermarket replacements. Nope, today I want to see dyno curves of before and after modifications to the stock system. They are by far not the only aftermarket outfit with hazy results. Where are the before and after results of long tube headers, x-pipes, and the noise generating muffler replacements done one at a time and without a retune?

I have been dealing with Ed Hamburger since the mid 60's we used to buy rear end gears from him for out Super Stock and then the PRO STOCK drag cars. He then went on to SLP fame. I have beem dealing with high performance companies for over 40 years both good and bad. The crew at SLP has impressed me over the years, they truely care about their customers. Due to them using my SS for several developement projects(strut tower brace, 3 inch y-pipe for convert's and sub frame connectors also for convert's) I have followed the parts from cad cam to finished products. A few years ago they realized that they were using their dyno's so much for their own projects that they stop doing customer work on them. Fit has all ways been a problem due to the small variations from car to car, brackets, clamps, connectors etc. I was truely amazed! I thought mass produced and all that the cars should be exact. The build tollerances from car to car is amazing. More so with the small pieces than major components. Boy this was longer then I meant it to be. Anyway I am going over there in the morning, I will keep everyone updated. They may be doing some baseline pulls tomorrow, it will be interesting to see what one with about 200 miles will do.
