Default GM Rant - difference with C5 / C6

Used an aftermarket mag drain plug and the washer split so I went down to my local GM dealer...

A non-magnetic drain plug (the only kind) for a C6 is over 7.00 and was not in stock, a magnetic drain plug for a C5 was in stock and was about 4.00. I knew from past experience that they were interchangeable, but what got me was the price difference...

Another reason GM is in the fix it is in...

Sorry, just my 2 cents...

Sounds like good business sense to me.
After all, they'll probably sell 10 to 1 C5 plugs over C6 ones. And they still have all the same overhead to stock and keep track of fewer C6 plugs.
You're smart enough to know the difference, but 99 others won't be.

I'd say that your complaint is like a fart in a tornado, compared to GM's real money troubles!

Stock drain plugs for the C5/C6 are not magnetic. You have to ask for a magnetic one at the parts counter.
