I got my Z51 Corvette the last Thursday in September. It broke down driving it home from the dealer and this was just the first of many issues. After spending two weeks in the shop, and a complaint to the BBB, GM agreed to replace the car the last Monday in October.
The replacement arrives on December 27th. After two weeks of waiting for the "paperwork", I am informed that it will take another 3-4 weeks to finish the "paperwork". Just to clarify, I wrote check for $45K, drive it a few hundered miles and now 3 months later, I don't have a car to drive that I am paying insurance on.
GM is clueless as to what customer Service is, they deserve chapter 11.
Certainly can't blame you for being upset. Can't imagine why you are paying insurance on a car you don't have, but I'll leave that up to you. Good luck with everything.

I technicaly still own the old one because the buy back is a "title swap", so I have to insure it.

If there was a Toyota equivalent to GM cars, I would not go near a GM dealership. Having said that, I own 6 GM cars (3 personal, 3 business). Maybe I am just fortunate that my experience has not been so bad. But company that treats their customers that bad needs to go down. It will happen...I give those 1diots 18 months max.
I know this is skewed but when ford bought back a truck from me the paper work was done at the dealership on arrival of the replacement truck. It took a couple of hours;also had to do financing. Your time frame would send mother teresa postal. Im waiting for delivery ; I certainly dont have your patience!!!!

You can (or at least I can) suspend coverage on a car I really own, let alone technically own. I think your insurance agent is blowing smoke...if that's where you got your information.

The dealer told me I to insure it since it was still mine.
Something sounds real fishy regarding the insurance!!!If they have the car and you have the plates, you do not need insurance on the car.Bring the plates to DMV and put them on hold and cancel the insurance. While it's at the dealer,it should be covered under their insurance anyway!!
In '85 I turned a car in on the Lemon Law and as I recall, it only took a couple weeks for them to take the car and get a check to me. It was all done through the Regional Manager.
At that time the biggest problem was trying to get it repaired. It was in the shop 33 of the first 90 days of ownership. I had to keep driving it while the whole Lemon Law thing took place, but once it did, it went fairly quickly. And by the way, I went out and bought an '86 Vette.

I did not have to go the lemon law route, GM agrred to replace it before it got that far, but if it had, I would have bought something else. I bought the car in good faith and they are replacing it so I am happy, but carless.........
