I ordered a silver coupe with the 2LT and Z51 packages on Dec. 14. My dealer received a 1100 code for this car on the same day. As of yesterday, the order status still is in a 1100 code. Other forum members with later Dec. order dates are getting January production dates. Some of these were ordered with the Z51 package. Anyone know why my order has not progressed passed a code 1100? Is there anyway I can check on my order other than through my dealer?
Your dealer has to have the available allocation to get the car. A dealer can order 5000 Corvettes today, with no allocation, they will not move up the production line. Your dealer should be full aware if he has the allocation for your order.

This is very normal when ordering a vette. Many dealers will take orders knowing that they do not have a current allocation. They hope to keep you hanging on till the get one. I had an order for 10 weeks. Each week they told me it would be ordered the next week. Finally they came clean and said that they couldn't get an allocation to place the order. Went to Kerbeck the next day and drove home with a new vette. Don't hold your breath that you will get an order anytime soon.
On the order printout form the dealer gave me is listed "Allocation group- VET". Any idea what VET means?
Call the dealer today & ask 'em what their "allocation" for Z52 Corvettes is, if any.
Understand?
If they say "No allocation" then run, don't walk to the next closest dealership and this time ask 'em the same question before any papers are signed.
I ordered a 2006 Z51 3LT etc from a dealer who had *one* allocation left, and 6 weeks later picked up a brand spanking new Corvette, built to *my* specs.
You can do the same, IF, you know what you're doing from the outset of the process.

That's why I chose a high volume dealer (Kerbeck) because I was not willing to compromise on the Z51 option. I placed the order on 7 Dec and was code 3000 almost immediately. The car was completed 10 Jan and I pick it up at the NCM 30 Jan just the way I ordered it. My local dealer couldn't even gaurantee me a car much less a Z51 car.
Cancel your order a call a forum dealer. You will be happy and get the car you want in a reasonable time. I bought mine from Monica at Maxi Price. I got a good deal inclucing Z51 and the order was picked within 2 or 3 week's. I picked the Corvette up at the museum and drove home to Southern California.
Last year, we were told by a forum sponsor that dealers know how many allocations for vettes they have per week for the next 4-5 weeks. They also know the total number of allocations they have for the next 4-5 weeks, but not how many each week.
So, if GM is still doing it the same way, your dealer knows all this and should tell you when your allocation is, if it's in the next few weeks.
hi, i just ordered a C 6 and right away my dealer told me that there is a constraint on z51's. he gave me an order number and told me if I changed from z51 my car would be built tomorrow. Is he b.s.-ing me? What questions can i ask to get an accurate answer. I hate dealers that blow smoke up my tailpipe. Please help. I'm dying to get my C6. thanks. What is a code 1100 and code 3000?
I just started working with Dave at Kerbeck on a quote. I did let him know that they were my backup plan as I wanted to give my local dealer the first shot at the order. Dave's sidekick e-mailed me back and told me they were happy to give me a quote, even if I was only to use it as a bargaining chip with my local dealer. Now that's the type of customer service that wins customers. No wonder they have such a successful dealership.

that just mentions what grouping the car ordered is...
you need to call your dealer he may not have the allocation to get your car. Just because it is a sold order - does not mean you'll get the car from that dealer. Good luck - certainly some questions are raised and need to be answered, the Z-51 is also a problem too.

if u took out Z51 it probably will be here in 5-6 weeks.
1100 just means that the order was placed.
3000 is a good code because the vehicle has been lined up for production.
Is the vette you want out of the oridinary? It might be worth a road trip to get it asap.
Yeah, my son and I pegged the car we wanted, got on line looking at dealer stock and window stickers until we found the car we were looking for. Flew from LA to Bay Area, cut and deal and had a great drive home. PLUS we got to see if the paint was any good or not.
The allocation thing is a two-step, and I'm not sure everyone understands this. After you place an order
1) the dealer needs the Corvette allocation- but that just covers the car.
2) He also needs to have open allocation for any constrained options on the car in the same week that his allocation comes up.
Example 1: you've got a Corvette ordered with Z51. The dealer has allocation for the Corvette, but no availability for the Z51- the order won't get filled until both conditions are filled.
Example 2: You have a Corvette ordered with Z51 and Chromed Alloy Wheels. All three conditions need to be filled- if he has availability of a Corvette, and Z51, but no chromed wheels- the order won't get placed.
Problem is, if the dealer doesn't order a car compatible with his constraints, he'll lose the allocation entirely, so you'll see stock orders getting placed in front of sold orders because of the option constraint situation. If the dealer has a steady stream of allocation, this can be overcome- eventually. If he only gets 1 or 2 cars a quarter, it could turn into a major headache.
So, in the case of the Z51 Pkg, it's very possible to burn through 4-6 allocated cars before a single Z51 becomes available. Depending on the size of the dealership, that could stretch out order lead times significantly. Adding a second constrained item to an order could stretch out the order that much further.
