Default Opinions Please!

Hello! Great information on this forum. This is my first post and I'd like to hear some opinions. I'm looking at putchasing a new 06 convertible. (Will be 2nd vette. First was 02 convert. Traded for XLR - big mistake...was a true lemon and Cad bought it back with little fight.) Anyway, I've narrowed the selection to two, both with manual 6, 3LT option package and polished aluminum wheels...

A) Triple black, power top
B) Blue/cashmere/beige, Z51 (manual top)

Can get either w/ GMS for about 50K. I think either would be a very hot car. I'm leaning toward the blue. I think either would be a very easy re-sale later on. Any thought to sway over to the black?

Thanks for any input!!

Welcome to the forum!

You will get a split of answers here, and probably some who will recommend colors you didn't ask for.

I had a 50th with the cashmere top and over time began to show dirt. I think both combo's you have chosen will look great.

Don't let anybody sway you, are you buying it for us, or you?

LMB Z51. both are great colors, and if it werent for the Z51 difference, it would probably be a coin toss.

but really you should go with the LMB. its faster!

I've read alot of horror stories about keepng black clean, it being hotter, etc.

IMO, if you want to look "bad", triple black is the one. When clean, this color combo rocks even with the standard wheel.

If you want to look "handsome" than go the other way. Tough color combo to beat.

Either way, its a great looking car. Go look in the driveway on a sunny day, or look in the garage and imagine which one would look better in that space.

Best of luck

It depends on what you really want. For example, if performance is key, LMB is the best choice as it is fact is the fastest. If you want people to tun heads and look, LMB is the best chloice. If you want a more low key image, than any other color works fine.

Z51 is always better... And the Blue is very nice and not as common as triple blacks.

Nothing, beats triple black. Yeh it gets dirty but when it is clean and sparkling you can't touch the combo. Kind of like going out with a super model, you are going to wait more for her to get ready......but who would you rather spend the night with

Look, the only "bad" color for a new 2006 Corvette would fashionably be called "Transparent".

I have to agree with most that the best of the two is the LMB. I have black, cashmere, black top with F55, but avoided triple black because, while it looks good, I don't like the "being in a cave" feeling while driving top up. My second choice was LMB with cashmere. It's a knock-out combo.
