DBS getting help with problem.
I am reporting what the dealer told me to do because it may help.

GM knows all about this, they just do not want to admit it.
I have spoken to Dave Hill ,Will Cooksie and a few other GM engineers about it. Hell, it even happened at the GM engineers tent at Carlisle last August. Why did they do away with the reverse/steering lock JUNK? (Note this does not hit 06 6spds, that is the fix)
Do not think for a second GM does not monitor this forum, or other Vette forums, THEY KNOW!
There ARE a couple GM people working on this, but its a low pirority with GM.(looks like it will go away as soon as the warrienty time is over)
I know of a dealership servive manager that states there is no problem, never heard of it. Funny thing a good friend of mine is a mechanic there (truck department), he says they have had 3 Vettes in with a DBS problem.
Face it, the problem has probably already been solved by GM, but they threw it away when they realized how much it would cost them to recall the vehicles and perform the fix. Buy a priority start or battery tender, unless you want to keep fighting the good fight.
When my service tech called GM he was told that they didn't have enough reports coming in to really do anything. Oddly, when my tech asked about relay 46, the same GM guy authorized its removal stating that they now had enough calls about it to authorize its removal as a possible cause of DBS. He said the evidence was all anecdotal, but removing it would cause no harm and might help. Pretty good for a problem that they don't seem to know anything about.

GM is so full of it
.. I just could not belive the kind of crap they are telling me. I just think that GM are not willing to admit that this is a major problem and not willing to fix it.

THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!
Thanks for the post. I will call and (posthumously
) report my sole DBS incident. Unfortunately, I recharged the car myself and bought a Deltran Battery Tender. I've never had an unreliable car in my life before this one.
I did discuss the problem with my dealer after the fact and they said it was the first they had heard of the issue. They did explain that the C6 is a highly sophisticated, technologically advanced car which has a fairly high, natural battery drain rate. The implication was that I just needed to expect a dead battery unless the car gets regular use.
Apparently the GM corporate culture at every level uses the old "ignore it & it will go away" management strategy
. Of course, this is exactly what their customers have been doing for the last three decades, and helps to explain the current near-backrupt state of GM.Before I take the car out of town, I will buy a priority start type unit so I won't get stranded somewhere.

Hope we eventually get some help on this problem.

Then they should pay for it.
