I have recently had the misfortune to have a stone thrown and hit two spots on the hood of my Victory Red C6. I'm sure the best repair
will be for a complete repaint of the hood. I didn't want to have somone do a 'touch up' job.
I'm in Simi Valley California. Can anyone out there in my area suggest a paint shop or dealer that would provide the kind of satisfaction that a 'Corvette ' person could love?
Precision auto body in Santa Barbara/Goleta area. They do very nice work, bit of a drive for you though and they aren't cheap. They say you won't know it has been repaired. I had my minivan repaired there once. The local roofers backed into the driver side quarter panel, messed it up good. The van was a charcol grey with metal flake, nice color. They did a beautiful job, and you could not tell after it was done that there had ever been any damage. They also warranty there work.
If you want to give a do-it-yourself job a try, Langka.com sells a kit that uses your own touch-up paint, and then smooths the resulting "paint blob" down to match your original paint surface. I have a kit, but have been fortunate enough to not have had to use it yet.
I've heard great things about the Langka kit. With a little patience and some touch up paint, a great repair can be done. Stone chips are a fact of life unfortunately. Good luck.
