I have a 2005 Daytona Sunset Orange Metallic, 6 speed. I can never get better than 13.8 mpg. city driving. My husband says it's because I am not using the skip shift (I love shifting!) I think he is probably right. Any feedback? I have also noticed that it sometimes resets the average mile (driving the car it will show 13.3 mpg, park the car, hours later when I start it, the mpg shows a significantly lower number) Anyone else have this problem?
Also, when I ordered the car, I got the clear top. What is the procedure in getting the solid top? Order from my dealer, I assume, but does it come painted from the factory or do they have to paint it before installing?
What gear do you normally drive in in town? Do you ever get into 6th? Avoiding CAGS shouldn't make that much difference, assuming you aren't reving to 4 grand and chirping the tires on every start...
You can't belive the computer reading of MPG's If you want a true reading there is only one way the old fashion way. Set the trips and devide the miles per the gallons per fill up.
Put an egg under your foot and the mileage will improve. In normal driving I almost never get above 2k. There is no flat land where I live and I'm average mid 19's in stop and go traffic.
Where I live, middle tennessee, it is very hilly. My C6 6-speed is giving me 21.4 mpg in town. I keep telling the wife its our economy car.I think you need to see your dealer.

I have found my computer is right on. I check it often and it always very close.
Mine always shows just a little low. Miles divided by gallons is how I double check to make sure it's close and I'm usually about 19 MPG in town, even being a little "Heavy" on the throttle.
