Default 2005 Production (Is this true?)

I was just on the Bowling Green Assembly plant web site and I downloaded the Production stats for 2005. I looked through all the colors and options to see where my Vert fits in. To my suprise
only 0.8% or 85 Convertibles out of 10644 produced were equipped with navigation That number seems way to low since
17.2% of all coupes had navigation. If the numbers are true it explains
why my order took so long to fill

Only 85 Verts with Nav! What do you think?

Gary

I have 2 of those 85 verts. One is Mag Red and the other Velociy Yellow.

At some point during the 2005 model year, the Nav option code no. was changed from U3U to URB. Also, more verts were made later in the model year. Maybe the number of verts with Nav coded as URB were left out of the information posted on the website.

Do you mean URB TO U3U?

No, the first 2005 C6s to get Nav options were with the U3U designation. Later in the model year, the designation (and maybe the supplier) was changed to URB, just like I said in my other post.

Well then the 06 NAV option is now back to the old code then! Thats why I responded to your "other" post.
So late in the model year they switched to a new code, and then back to old code for 06???

My apologies. I didn't understand your previous post. I was not aware that the code had gone back to U3U for the 2006 MY.

But I suspect there were more than 85 verts that had the Nav option for the 2005 MY. The first 85 probably had the U3U and the others probably had the URB.

No sure about that. I'm one of the 17.2% of coupes w/ Navi.

Okay, here's a link that I didn't know I had.

http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/.../2005prod.html

For U3U Nav, it shows 4591 coupes and 85 verts. It also shows for the URB option, 7691 coupes and 6524 verts. So, it looks like there were a total of 6609 verts with the Nav option for the 2005 MY.

That's more like it. I have no idea why they changed the RPO for the nav system after a few months into production. It took them a while to ramp up the vert production in '05. It took them even longer to offer a convertible top in beige or gray, but that is a completely different story that caused a big slant in the convertible top color stats.

Speedometer that goes to 300 for km/h.

Is it wired to have the headlights on all the time instead of just the DRLs during the day?
