Can anyone decrypt all of the option packages and what makes the C6 better than the C5? I'm interested in purchasing an 05 vette in about a month, so any help would be much appreciated.

You should invest in the "Corvette Black Book", about $16 or so. Every Vette dealer who does volume probably has one as a reference. Kerbeck in A.C. certainly does for each salesperson, and they're always looking at it.

You might find one immediately in a good bookstore. This will be the best reference you ever had. Every year, every option and option package, color, production numbers, year-to-year changes, etc. from '53 to '06. Probably answer every question you can possibly have.

Faster, one year newer, more horse power. Have you been reading the Corvette Forum at all for the past year and a half? These are answers to your 2nd question.

 

Are you asking the difference between the C5 ('97 to '04) and the C6 ('05 and '06) or the difference between '05 C6 and '06 C6?

 

You're interested in buying an '05 in a month but don't know the differences between a C5 and a C6? That seems odd. Rather than relying on us for answers, I suggest investing some of your own time in some research.

 

If the c6 came with NO PACKAGES,it would still be better than a c5!!Drive one,you'll see!

I've had a succession of C4, C5 and now a 2006 C6 and my advice is spend the next month learning all you can on your own before you buy, especially since this appears to be your first Vette. If you do your homework you will be rewarded beyond your wildest dreams. There are a lot of responsibilities that come with owning one of the world's finest automobiles at any cost and knowing what you are buying/upgrading is one of them. ENJOY!!
