Default Method for confirming allocation?

Is there some evidence a dealer can provide to confirm that they have allocation for the car you want to order? I've heard too many stories of wait times that stretched into months because the dealer had no allocation, despite having said (or implied) that they did.

I hope you find one. I ordered an 06 coupe back in Sept. after they told me they had an allocation?? And now I'm still waiting. I even put the Harley I'm trading in into their possession. 4 months later and still waiting. I wish I had found this forum before I made the leap. The info I've found here is priceless!!

Don't beat around the bush, ask 'em if they've got an allocation, then, get it in writing when you sign.

Make certain you want to see acceptance of your order (from BG) within say, 2 weeks of signing.
Or the contract's null & void & your $500 deposit (no more!) returned to you, in full.

Once the dealership places the order and IF the dealership has an allocation?
BG will begin issuing status codes to the dealer, the dealership can in-turn fax/email you what's going on with a projected completion date.
That's precisely how it went for me when I placed my order in November of '05 for my '06.
Moreover the dealership I did business with was up front & quite honest when they told me they only had one more allocation & it'd be mine if I inked with 'em.
Shortly thereafter I began recieveing the status code updates as they were issued by BG.

You *could*, OTOH, cut to the chase.
Do business with one of the forum's outstanding dealers, a couple of which have allocations up the gazoo assuring you'd get the car you want, as you want it & within a reasonable timeframe.

Good luck.
But really luck isn't as important as being informed before any of your hard earned earnest money is put down.

Check with the dealers on this forum. Some have big inventories and big allocations. Perhaps you can get something sooner and get your deposit back. If they don't have an allocation I would assume they haven't placed the order with the factory yet.
