Default changing wheels

i changed my c6 order to the standard wheels to avoid the production delay on the chrome production wheels. i'll get some aftermarket chromes. my questions relates to the tire pressure sensor. how does it attach to the wheel and where. is it bolted on or glued? how easy is it to move to another wheel. and finally, should i have my gm dealer do the swap or my local tire store if they're careful with the sensors? thanks. dgr

The sensor is part of the tire valve unit, on the outside you see only what look like a regular valve but it is solid and not rubber like most cars. The sensor is ~ 1.5" X 2" X 3/4"....or at least that's how I remember it. Have a tire shop do it, or your GM dealer in case they break it.

I had my WCC chromies mounted at discount Tire for $90. They did great job but had NO clue how to raise the car without damage. I had to place the rubber pucks under the car at the jacking points for them. I would recommend you do the same thing so you don't have any problems.

That raises another question. Can you depend on a dealer knowing how to raise one without damage?

You would think so, but verifying beforehand is probably a good idea.

I talked to a guy at the plant today and says the wheel problem is over. He also told me that it was much worse than we knew a couple of months ago.
