Default Paint question.

Saw a 06 Monterey Red Convertible today at the dealer. The only thing is that is seemed like there was no metallic in it at all. My Magnetic Red puts it to shame!! Does the amount of Metallic vary that much from car to car? It justed looked like a dark red car. It would probably look better outside but I looked close and saw no Metallic at all. Still a nice looking car but nothing exceptional.

There should be significant metallic flake in the Monterey paint. Take a look at the attached close-up on mine. Note that depending on the lighting, this color takes on a range of hues, from a candy apply red in the sun to an almost burgundy in the dark.

Your car looks like I thought it should. This Mont Red had NO metallic showing at all. It probably shouldn't have slipped through quality control. Even the salesman said it didn't look right. Thanks for your picture. Worth a thousand words!!

The metalflake pops out in the sun...or brighter artificial light. It shows up well in the photo because of the flash. That's one thing I like about the color, it changes from dark and subdued to bright and stunning depending upon the light.

And depending on whether it has been washed. My monterey red is so dirty right now I just say "It's maroon."

Make sure your looking at it in the sun, looks totally different than when in the shade.
