Every time there is a "Save the Wave" post, I add the same comment. I got waves all the time in my C5, but since getting my C6 on Oct 28th they are few and far between. Honestly I think I have had two waves and I live in a large city full or Corvettes. Well this morning this guy races to catch up with me and hits the brakes all to give me a big thumbs up . Was it a Corvette guy/girl, no sir, it was a GTO. Then he sped off. While it felt good to have someone recognize the car, it took a GTO to finally get a good wave/thumbs up. I normally would not start a save the wave thread, but I will keep waving, even if I never get a wave back. Have a good weekend! Get out and enjoy your wonderful cars, and wave at every other Corvette you see!

My uncle that owns an early 60s Vette said he always thought the new C6 looks like a ferrari or viper - espacially in front -- so he never waved. He is educated now - but its funny...
I slowed down to take a closer look at a old Triumph motorcycle on the highway and when he finally looked over, I gave him the . He shook his head and pointed to the vette and gave the back. Doesn't take another vette driver to appreciate a nice car or motorcyle.

I had the same thing happen only it was a custom chopper. Really cool looking bike, gave him the thumbs up and he nearly crashed looking at my C6 and giving the thumbs up.LOL I'll always wave when I see you!!!
A few months ago, my wife and I were on the highway & a guy in a late model Maxima was "pacing me", hanging just off the right rear quarter panel (3 lanes w/me in the middle). When he finally passed, he rolled his left hand (hanging out the window) up into a "thumbs up". I thought that was pretty cool & gave him a smile and a .
I think a lack of waves is because some of the "not so knowledgeable" Vette owners still have a problem identifying the C6 head on. I've had a few C5 drivers stare right through me... I still wave first and I'm up to the usual percent of wave backs after three months.

I was wondering that too Big Joe, if the new Corvette is just not quite known yet. Another part of me wonders, after spending some time in the Off Topic section, if the owners of the other generations just dislike the new Corvette so much that they don't acknowledge it. I have seen some ugly comments over there about the C6. Of course, keeping things in perspective, it IS OT after all. For every Corvette generation there are those that love it and those that favor it least. I, for instance am not a big C4 fan, but you can bet I still wave at them!
