I have a 2005 c6 with a 6 speed gear box. I know about the 1#th to4#th blocking. The shifter1#th to 2#nd not smooth, And causes me to miss 2#nd a lot, most of the time I have to double cluch. The car has over 4500 miles.I would like to put a Hurst short throw in but I don't want to lose my warrenty, any thoughts.
Why don't you try some new tranny fluid. Several members have said that the shifting became a lot smoother after switching to a high quality synthetic. I've got some Royal Purple syncromesh that I'll be changing to after my next track event.
You may be low on fluid, but it's possible that you have a syncro problem that will need to be repaired.
Switching to a short throw shouldn't effect any warranty claims. Its a simple swap that only changes the stick, won't effect the transmission at all.
I wouldn't be so sure...many dealers will blame the Hurst for any problems that arise. Your best bet is to switch back to the stock shifter before taking it in for any service work. It really depends on the dealer...

Most MN6s shift reasonably OK. It sounds like you have problem. You should get it fixed before you complicate the issue by doing any shifter mods or trying other fluids.
At best you would have patch on top of a problem that GM was already obligated to fix. At worst, they would blame the problem on you.
Install the B&M shifter.Several of us have installed it & it is 1 of the best Mods I have done.I has a nice short throw. It never misses 3rd gear & slams right in.
