The song list is only a display of tracks that are on a CD that's inserted into the player. Once you remove the disc, the list disappears. You can't play tunes unless the disc is in the player.

According to my manual, it says you are able to store 20 songs in a song list. You don't need the CD in the player to play them. This would be up to 20 songs that you choose. You can add and delete songs from the list. It's in the manual and it's called Song List.

interesting. i thought for a second there that maybe my C6 had the same capability that the new bimmers have. where you can actually save MP3 files to your car stereo and compile song lists. that would have been cool. alas, it appears this is not the case. :o

The real question is - Why did they put it in the manual?

The maual is quite misleading on that information,No one else seems to know how to do it. If you can do it your info on the procedure would be helpful.

Maybe its a list of songs you can choose to play in the order that you select from the CD.

actually, it specifically says it saves 20 songs. I just read it in the manual. Cool feature...if it exists. If it doesnt, Chevy should replace the radio under warranty????

It is only a list of songs selected from the CDs currently in your player. The manual states, "If a CD is ejected, and the song list contains saved tracks from that CD, those tracks are automatically deleted from the song list." So the list just allows you to choose the tracks you want to hear and skip over the ones you don't.
