I was cruising around I-270 in Columbus on Friday and the rear view mirror dropped from the windshield hanging by the power harness. Scared the ****e out of me at first. I have never had that happen to me. Cruised home and tried to reattach to the "nut" glued to the windshield. Couldn't figure it out, so drove to the dealer and the tech reattached it. Anyone else experience this phenomena?? It is really weird for a car that is only three months old.

Has happened to me, but not with any of my Corvettes.
You're right, it does the scare the bejebbers outa ya when it happens.
IF the glass isn't perfectly clean when the adhesive's applied the thing'll eventually vibrate loose, and gravity takes over from there.

Usually, the "nut" as you call it lets go of the glass. Happens frequently in summer. Not very common in winter. The retaining screw must have been loose for the mirror to jump up off the shoe and fall off.
Best I can offer is my experience this morning...I park car, put it in Reverse, pull up on parking brake handle and silver button flies off. Took me a couple of minutes to dig it out from under my seat and place it back on. I'll note it to dealer when I go in for first service. Ahhh well.
Im sorry for saying this, but all these posts were quite amuzing... I guess its good to see the truth come out about new vehicles sometimes. I never would have expected the mirror or the e-brake button incident, im sure if it happened to me I would have laughed histerically, then called the dealer and raised H*ll...

Even though these are serious issues I couldn't help laughing at these events. Hope it doesn't happen to me.
