I pulled the vette out of the garage to let my sister take a seat inside, and decided to take her out for a quick drive. I need to turn my car around in my driveway to avoid the front spoiler hitting the ground, so I did that. I soon realized that I forgot my license in the house, so I opened the door to run inside, and then BAD news... The door hit the stone retaining wall of the stairs. There is little damage, nothing more than paint chiping (that you cannot see unless you look really hard in the right place - on the very end of the door), but it bothers me! Any suggestions on touchup? It seems that this only hurt the clear coat, but I am not certain. My camera is with my father in Asia, so I don't have pictures right now, but just wanted to hear what suggestions you guys had for touch up.
Yeah you gotta watch those wide doors. I did the same thing a couple days ago that I get mad at people for doing. I opened my door right into another car's door. :o I park next to the same guy every day and he must have parked a few inches off "normal". Hit it hard enough to set off his alarm! But no damage that I could see.
.
ouch....i did that once and the sound of it hitting the wall is one fo the worst sounds in the world....touch up paint will do the job and i guarantee you wont do it again
A few years ago I banged the door of my brand new coupe against a brick planter. I had two options: 1. Hang myself; 2. Take it to the dealer's body shop. I chose option 1.
