OK.. this is it.. D-Day! I’m ordering my new C6 today and wanted to ask if there is anything I’ve left out of my option list before I talk with my dealer.
C6 Coupe color Victory Red, Ebony interior, MN6. I’m ordering the 3LT package, the 2 top option, F55, Gray comp wheels and Nav system. I’m immediately changing the wheels to after market but someone on forum suggested getting the gray comp wheels just in case and said they look good on the VR car.
Dealer tells me 4 to 6 weeks but I’m hoping for 8 weeks. I want nice weather around here so I can start driving it ASAP. I’ve been sitting on the dime to long and might as well jump in the pond…….. Any suggestions will be appreciated…
Congrats!
You may get it quicker then 8 weeks.
My order was accepted the first week of January and rolled off the line last Friday.
I'm doing a Museum delivery and the wait is already killing me..hahaha
You need to start buying accessories and mods to keep you busy! $$$$
I actually started off trying to buy a ZO6 but after a couple of months of BS, doubling dealing and ridiculous prices I said the hell with it. I was not paying over MSRP or waiting another year. Didn’t need the aggravation and figured I could get in as trouble with 400 as 505hp! Reading how people on the forum enjoy their cars helped influence my decision. My wife told me to just shut up and buy one as I’ve drooling over the C6 since I first saw one. Haven’t owned an American car in about 16 years but figured if I was going to drive one again it might as well be a vett. It will be a nice weather summer car so reliability isn’t as critical. On the other hand it seems most C6 owners are pleased over all with their cars. I’m not expecting a “PERFECT” car and have realistic expectations regarding my purchase. I am looking forward to driving something that’s really fun to drive. Today feels like being a young kid and waiting for Christmas! Lol.
PRICELESS… well ok priceless to the tune of about 50k… lol….
Being in CT you may consider the trans top only. One of them won't be used, and I bet it will be the solid top...
ditto, do you really anticipate using both?
also, why are you paying the extra $$ for the comp grey if you're definitely switching them out?
i'd change the 2 above and take the extra cash on a trip to do the museum. and if you're not doing that because of not having time to do the drive back or something, consider not ordering R8C but still doing a trip down to BG while your car is on the line and getting a tour from Kevin instead. then you get the cool VIP tour of the plant and the car still gets delivered to your dealer.
You might want to add the R8C option, it is worth it.
I was really considering that but I have several mods that I want dealer installed before taking delivery. I'm having after market wheels installed. I also made a deal to get the calipers sent out to a forum vendor for powder coated and reinstalled by the dealer. The way I have it figured the dealer will be sure to get it done if he wants his check. Unfortunately with my work schedule I have limited time I can take off. It's one of the disadvantages of owning the business that you don't hear much about! I really had more time off when I worked for someone!
I have other mods planned but will do them myself after I get the car. Next vett I will do the musem delivery for sure. Everyone said it's great.

The car is actually spec'd with the trans top right now but thought it might look better with the solid top? I've seen pictures and it's really hard to decide. Someone mentioned that if you don't buy them up front they are a lot more expensive afterwards? Didn't want to get the car and say.. damn wish I had the painted top. I was thinking of the gray comp wheels for resale? Maybe someone would perfer the gray over aftermarket and the gray looks so much better on the VR car. I think it's only like 300 bucks for the wheels... BTW.. I do appreciate the input from everyone. If there's one thing I know is that I don't know it all......... it's exactly why the forum is so helpful.

Why not. My car was as close to perfect as one could get. 4000 miles with 0 problems. Not a mark inside or out at deliverly. I cannot see any orange peal in the paint (DSOM), though I'm told all cars have it. I have Z51 and my brakes have never made a noise. No DBS (an 05). The Nav. system and HUD work perfectly. The radio sound fine. Tires show no wear yet. Should I go on. Wish you the same luck I've had.
Congrats, I see you picked the Victory red with ebony(excellent choice), everything in your order looks good. I would definitely get the painted top because I think it looks much nicer on the car. Did you decide to buy from Tommy jr. and have it delivered? You will most likely have it in 5 or 6 weeks, my car was delivered to him 6 or 7 days after it was built. Goodluck.

Other than not being a Z51 (which I think you'd miss out) and the fact that its not silver looks good . Everyone knows that silver is scientifically proven to be faster than all other colors.

My order was accepted in early Jan, and the car was built on 1/30 & 1/31. I was in the plant watching it being built, and I was really impressed with the Monterey Red (though my first choice still is DSOM).
I got standard painted wheels, and I'm having my dealer swap them for aftermarket chrome. I seriously doubt that you'll recoup the extra $$ for gray painted wheels. And in the factory I didn't think they look any better than standard (just my opinion of course).
My car should be delivered to my dealer in another week or so. I can hardly wait. Vert DSOM, 3LT, A6, NAV. Those were the options that appealed to me plus chrome wheels.
