Default Replacing Exhaust Tips

Has anybody replaced their exhaust tips only for a better look? What kind and size did you go with?

I think the C6 exhaust tips are some of the best looking stock exhaust tips I have ever seen. If anything I would use Z06 tips so get the same look, but a bigger size. Heck, I havent seen many aftermarket tips that look any better. Best of luck though!

I love the round tips but want a larger look! I called Borla they will sell you the 4" tips only so you have a more aggressive look...

Close to $200 for the tips alone not bad if you want a more agressive look without having to replace the stock exhaust

I can't figure out why people mod half the stuff they do on these cars. Performance mods speak for themselves. But I have seen a ton of appearance mods on these cars, and most I did not care for. I quit asking why because I dont think there is a good reason.

Don't the Borla tips have their name on them? If so everyone will wonder how you got such a quiet Borla system... If I ever replace the tips it will because the new ones are attached to a new exhaust system.

I've had 4" quad B&B Bullets on my car for about 7 months. I recently took them off for a couple of weeks (long story - don't ask). During that time I had the stock exhaust on. They really look wimpy after the Bullets.

If all you want to do is replace the tips, I do a search of Magnaflows. I know they sell the tips seperately, and they really look good.

BTW, I put the Bullets back on earlier today, and I'm a happy guy again!

Do the stock tips provide a muffler effect? Would you notice a difference in the sound?

I don't understand you questioning it. It's all a matter of personal taste. I'll bet if I offered you a set of factory sized HRE wheels for your car for free, you'd jump all over it, right? Why? Because it would improve the looks of your car. But it all comes down to what different people think looks good. Certainly you don't think that your opinion of what looks good is the only right opinion, do you?

No flames, just trying to make a point.

I can GUARANTEE you I would take them and sell them ASAP. I could buy any rims I liked for my car. I havent seen any I like (including $1,000+/wheel HRE's). I also have seen any exhaust tips I like better than stock (not counting Z06 tips). The C6 stock tips are about the best looking I have ever seen. Anybody remember the C5 stock tips...

And I cannot figure out why people don't mod their cars to make them look better and different than all the others.

The wonderful thing about owning a car is it's your and you can do as you please with it. If the guy just wants the tips I say go for it. It his car and if he likes it thats all that matters. It a matter of taste. Personally there are plenty of things I wouldn't do to my car. Changing the exahust is on of them, but I'm not going to rip anyone for doing it. I'm not trying to flame anyone, or get a flame started. Just speaking from the other side of the fence. At the end of the day, the most important person regarding a car is the person on the title.

I save my mod money mostly for performance parts. I think they did pretty good in the looks dept. already.

I assume you don't have the factory polished wheels then. Almost anything is an improvement over them with the pathetic polish/clearcoat job on them. Either that or your standards are pretty low

But to further make my point, you say you are happy with the looks ("I save my mod money mostly for performance parts. I think they did pretty good in the looks dept. already.) The majority of C6 owners would say the same thing about the performance. At 400hp, they did a pretty good job of that.

I'm not trying to be arumentative, and I too would like more horsepower. I'm just trying to make a point.
