Trying to decide between the Lloyd's carpet trunk mat and their Rubbertite trunk mat.
The Rubbertite will protect against minor spills & stains, and should reduce the luggage sliding around during enthusiastic driving. But I'm a little worried about possible condensation under the rubber, and especially I don't want the trunk of my Corvette to look like the bed of a pickup. Comments from you who have them?
Also, with the Titanium interior I might use a Black or Ebony mat which would match the OEM trunk carpet, or Gray which would lighten things up a little, (almost) match the seats, and keep the trunk from being a black hole when trying to find things at night. Suggestions?
If the gray matches the seats I would go with that.
I have the cashmere interior and got that color and the contrast looks great against the ebony carpet in the trunk. I think that contrast would work well for you also.
I have a Lloyd cargo mat in my '05 and also had one in my '98 C5. They are of high quality and seem to help with the acoustics in the passenger cabin.
FWIW. . .
Avoid the Rubbertite unless you really like strange rubber smells in your Corvette. I tried to return mine but they said I should have known there would be a strong odor from them.
I'm getting Lloyds for the front in ebony (cashmire interior) and a weatherguard for the rear for everyday use. I plan to also get a Lloyds for the back for nice days.
Ok, I really like the mats in the back with the logo...but I can't help but ask just how many Corvette logos a person needs in their car.
Over the time I've spent here on the boards, it seems that people really love the Corvette logo.
I've seen some photos with cars that I feel have gone overboard as far as the emblems go. There's one on the rear, then some have the exhaust plate with one, then some have the mats under the driver/passenger seats and one in the rear deck. Some even put the logo on the center console, not to mention over top the visors after taking the safety sticker off. Then that brings us to the engine, where some have installed one on the hood.
Does it ever get to a point where there are just too many logos?
Personally, I think the more you have, the less the overall impression of the emblem serves.
double eagle posted the picture (above) of his steel gray trunk mat. It looks good, in his pic a little lighter than the Ebony factory carpet, but darker than the Titanium seats. Is it that way when seen "live"?
But in another thread titled "Lloyd mats" (spell it exactly that way for a search) there's a pic of a trunk mat that looks exactly the same, only the color is called ebony.
Going to www.lloydmats.com
they show 13 different gray & black colors available, one is called "S. Grey" but none is called "Ebony".
I think the various vendors are using their own names for the colors, but can anyone tell us which LLoyd color is equal to:
Chevrolet "Ebony"
and
Chevrolet "Titanium"?

Yes, at least to these tired old eyes. The steel gray mats are lighter than the factory ebony but darker than titanium gray. A small portion of the passenger's floor mat can be seen in my photos as well. I think the 'S. Grey' is steel gray.
