Default Dealer Question

Anyone have any experience with, or bought a Vette from, Jon Hall Chevrolet in Daytona Beach?

They really surprised me. I was able to take a C6 out on my own, with my wife, for a test drive. Followed by that the salesman took us each out separately to demonstrate various features. We left with a packaged 2006 brouchure. No other local dealer has offered any of that.

Default Buying from Jon Hall Chevrolet in Daytona Beach

We purchased our 05 C6 Precision Red with NCM delivery vin 00735 from Jon Hall. Picked up at NCM 09/15/04. Paid MSRP and got beat up on our C5 trade in but that was ok with us as we wanted the new car and agreed to MSRP and the low trade. After agreeing on price and shaking hands the order was placed. When new C6 was built and dealer invoiced we got a call to finish paying for the carand we proceded to the dealership. Whilel doing the paperwork they added an additional $599.00 dealer service charge to the deal. After an hour of arguing and protesting the charge we advised them to give us our trade in money and we would leave. Only after walking out they relucktently agreed to waive the dealer fee and we went back in and finished the deal. Also during our buuild process as you can expect we were very excited to be getting the new C6 and contacted the dealership for periodic checks as to the status of our car. After 2 requests we were told by Stu the inventory manager he wasn't checking anymore and for us to "Call the 800 customer service nember if we wanted any information." We truly love our new C6 but if Glenn Richey, who owns the dealership came to our home and agreed to drive us to the Bowling Green plant to get a new C6 I would throw him off my property.

It amazes me that some dealerships still operate like this one! With all the info available (like CF) today wouldn't it pay to stop jerking customers around for a few bucks? The word gets out and it does hurt their sales. I spoke to several CF sponsors about my mod parts and they were well aware how important it is to keep people happy. Word of mouth is still the best or worst advertisement a vendor can have for their business. You can't buy a good reputation as you have to earn it!

It's amazing, isn't it, that someone this stupid can actually end up owning a business as big as a new car dealership?

'KNOW YOUR ENEMY!'
Keep this logo in mind when buying a car.
The dealer is in business because he KNOWS HIS ENEMY (the customer)!
Most customers just fold under with these dealer (stealer) additions, I know I have in the past. So no, none of this amazes me.
When I deal for a car now, I specifically ask ONLY for the OTD (out the door) price. Any other numbers are pure fantasy to me and I will not look at them.

I was in the market to order a 06 Vette in Oct of 05. At that time I contacted every dealer in FL that had some kind of Corvette inventory. Hall Chev was the only one that beat out everyone in price including the closest forum dealer. Right up front I made sure to negotiate the price with no dealer fee. They had over 2 dozen 05 and 06 Vettes in stock including 2 Z06s so I knew from this that they had allocations. I ordered my DSOM vert with Z51 the 3rd week of Oct. and it was delivered the 4th week of Nov. So it took a total of 5 weeks to get it. I had figured I would be waiting 8 weeks or more due to the Z51 contraints. The entire transaction was over the internet and phone. I only had to go there to pay them and pick it up.

In my experience Hall=good deal+high allocations.

Thanks for all the responses. Let me shift locations. How about experiences with Classic Chevrolet in Altamonte Springs?

I have a trade which is why I am not thinking forum dealers. I really don't want to deal with selling my other car myself. That is why I am staying local right now. That could change. I know enough to stay away from Sanford!
