Default 06 Automatic Shifter Rattle

Anyone else out there with an 06 A6 with a shifter button that rattles. Mine has been doing this since new. Not very loud, in fact I cant hear it most of the time (worked around jets for 20 years) but it drives the wife crazy. Just trying to fiigure out if this is a isolated case or common. Thanks in advance.

Mine does not rattle at all. I would get it checked.

Mine rattles ... took awhile to figure it out too. I just press the button and it stops. Seems to start again on certain roads.

At 986 miles, no rattle on mine. Maybe it starts to happen at a higher mileage.

OK here - the button didn't release completely a couple times when going to park when fairly new - cycled it a few times and hasn't failed since.

Mine did. I took one of those small felt adhesive pads you stick on the bottom of nik-naks, a pair of tweezers and slide the pad up between the botton and what it presses against inside. Problem solved.

I think iys just from vibration. We just put our finger on it to move it a little and it stops. Thanks for your replys.
