The hondas, minivans, and bloated SUV's don't bother me when they pass. Like someone earlier said, they probably aren't even aware enough of what's beyond their car to even notice what kind of car they were passing.

However....

That dude who pulled up next to me at 60 in the tuner mitsu (that sounded like a chainsaw on steroids) and started revving it up...

Him, ... I smoked.

I would never race a Honda or anything of that sort, it just makes you look stupid, and kind of degrades the class corvettes have. However, if its another corvette, Porsche, Ferrari, Viper, etc. Ill do it for sure, plus my little meter thing will beep if a cop is around, in that case I just hit my brakes quickly, and go back to the speed limmit.

That happened to me on the way home tonight and I wanted to hit the gas SOOOO bad but I was already doing 6 over the speed limit.

I let him go but it sure felt weird.

I gota know I'm not the only one that feels this way!!!
Happens all the time... Be cool and have some class and keep cruising... You made their day, because when they get to work they're all excited and tell everyone how they blew off a Vette in the corners... The SUV and pick-em-up truck crowd do the same... Remember it's all about having that good Karma on your side

I let a BMW 745I have his way the other day... I just said to myself "go ahead fool"

I think 75% of the people who pass a 'vette don't pay us any attention. I have yet had something I would consider competitive pull next to me and want to try me. It's always the tuners and pick-up trucks to which I say "bring something better to the table" and laugh. I won't street race anyway.

I could not care less who does or does not pass me…. If you drive the GSP (Garden State Pky) you'll get run over in the left lane doing 80! I was driving to the shore couple of weeks ago and was doing 90 and just keeping up with the traffic in the right lane. Every so often 1 out of 100 gets a citation but it's like emptying the ocean with thimble. NJ speed laws do not apply on the GSP! If you’ve driven in Germany it’s great compared to the USA. First most people can actually drive safely at high speed. Second when you want to pass a slower car in the right lane on the autobahn just flash you’re lights and people politely move over. It’s not considered a signal to race, give you the bird or result in road rage. We have some of the worst drivers in the western world. I would like people to pass a real driving test not the ridiculous joke we now use.

I like a rabbit out front also. Press 'em a little to get them up to the speed I want and then drop back and let 'em run the traps. Never fails on those who "think" they can do a horizon job on a C6.

I don't. I'm confident in my knowledge that my vette can beat him. What do I have to prove? Even when Mustangs happen upon me I smile, wave, and continue at whatever speed I'm at.

I love watching the puff of blue smoke coming out of their exhaust....When other drivers intentionally pass you..... I just let them go because they feel good about themselves eventhough their car is falling apart....

Your actually suffering from a psycological trick. If not looking at the speedo and getting passed by cars, the mind will compensate thinking you are going too slow rather than "they are going too fast". My friend and I used to mess with people like that. I would get on the left and he woudl get on the right side, we would slowly get up next to them, than step on the gas a bit and everytime the person in between would unknowingly speed up, usually they would end up hitting brakes to slow down. Tested many times over 8 years.

A few years ago I was cruising back to Ft. Worth from Houston and was going a nice steady 95 since there was hardly any traffic. In my mirror I see a vehicle quickly approaching. It was a minivan and he zoomed right past me, he had to be going well over 110 or so. And, it was full of people too.

6 miles over come on man. You belong in the amateur corvette forum. That is crazy my vette wont let me go anything less than 10-15 over to try to avoid wreckless driving tickets.

Also everyone we must remember that we must let some pass so they can see all angles and curves on the car. It is just common practice for me.

Its not the rice that bothers me, Its those pesky GTO cars that want to race, all the time. Im just happy when they see a mustang to go bother. but at least the GTOs I will indulge myself sometimes
