I think I read somewhere that the mean average yearly income is about 135K for C6 owners. So use that for a basis.

You are forgetting insurance.

Insurance would run you at least 250 or more per month on a new C6 (a little less, but still high on a C5). Insurance on a Z06? quite honestly, if you were to be on your own policy, an insurance company just might not underwrite you...........and if they did, 250 would probably seem cheap.

Google some financing calculators to find out what the montly payment would be. Go from there.

Its typically not too smart to buy a car that costs more than you make during a year. So, figure that as to what the minimum you should make to afford this car.

Although it has a few drawbacks, and depends on your particular situation, leasing can help lower the monthly expense.

Obviously, I'm not desperately serious nor approaching remote seriousness of buying a C6. That's why I said, "just for fun." Being an econ student, I like to think about what-if situations such as this.

As to why even pose the question? Because I saw a few kids around here driving a C5 Z06 and someone down the road has a Bentley Continental and I was wondering how they could possibly "own" or afford one.
Because Daddy bought them. As an econ student, this would be considered a "sunk cost" by the parents, because they are putting money in a likely sinking ship.

However, realistically, a friend of mine here bought a new '04 Coupe about 18 months ago, and he and his wife are teachers (figure $40K/yr each) and they manage the vette, a new mini-van, nice little house, and two kids under 5.
