Default Help needed with e-brake button

I have an 06 and I was told that the emergency brake button just pulls off. I've tried to pull it, pry it with a screw driver and even used a pair of pliers to get the dang thing off and it wont budge. Anyone know how to take it off?

I pulled mine out last night for the second time after we spoke to paint it comp gray (thanks, I forgot about that). No problem pulled straight out, not sure why yours does not

Mine just popped off when I pulled up the handle last week. They are not fastened well so yours should pull straight off.

^Bump^ I know on my 05 they come right off... anyone know if the 06 changed the snap on mechanism? Flatbush, Pipedreams were you talking about 05 or 06 in your case?

It is difficult to pull off...one way to do is lift up e brake boot, unscrew the set screw for the e brake handle and then pull with prejudice the e brake handle and the **** will pop off...using the e brake handle gives you more leverage (meaning can use two hands if need be)

Thanks everyone. I was able to get it by putting some tape on it and pulling with the tape and prying with a screwdriver at the same time. I think C6FirstVette has the best idea though. If I hadn't already gotten it I think that would have been easier.
