Could anyone who has a Vette with the 2LT package tell me if the sport buckets have the perforated leather seating surface like the seats in the 3LT package. Also, the radio in the 2LT doesn't come with Bose speakers, but my experience with Bose has not been very good. How would you rate the standard speakers? I'm trying to justify saving about $3K and not getting the 3LT because it has so much stuff that I have no use for including heated seats (live in FL) memory pk. ( only 1 driver) garage door opener (have manual door) and HUD (find it annoying and never used it in my '05)
One more thing...can someone please measure the length and width of the removable coupe roof section. I need to know the size to see if I'll have room on the garage wall to store it if I get the 2 top option.
Can't help you on the seats sincew I am not a corvette owner. But I am intersted in hearing opinions on the 3LT option and it's necessity. My main reasons for ordering the 3LT option would be the HUD and telescoping steering column.
You are one of the few people who doesn't like the HUD. I wonder if their are more?
The 2LT has the perforated seats and they are really comfortable! I don't know what the 1LT seats are like, but I am very glad I got the 2LT. The stereo's OK. The key thing is, are you going to notice the difference while the car is rolling? It's not a Lexus; you do hear the engine and the tires (but not the wind!). I'm not at home or I'd tape the roof and let you know.
I have a '05 1SA which is the same as the '06 2LT.
The seats are the same perforated leather as found in the 3LT. The car has a manual tilt wheel and a standard stereo that doesn't include the extra mono speaker from the 3LT.
The sound system, like that of the 3LT, is not audiophile quality. It is, however, more than adequate.
If you can't live without the HUD, memory seats, or power telescoping wheel, you will have to ante up for the 3LT.
The 2LT DOES have the perforated seating surafaces (even though some of the GM literature might lead you to believe otherwise). I have the 2LT... with perforated seats... I love the car and love the 2LT package... no regets... the audio system seems just fine to me... but then again, I bought the car to DRIVE, not to play music in. When I want to hear REALLY good audio, I use my home system or my recording studio. Cars are for driving. And when you drive, you should be concentrating on driving, not music. I feel the 2LT audio system is more than adequate for an automobile. My personal recommendation: get the 2LT and use the extra few grand you save (verses the 3LT) on gasoline... and DRIVE the heck out of the car!!! That's what it's all about! Just my two cent anyway
I know that I'm repeating myself, but...yeah the 3LT package is overpriced and may include some things that don't matter to you. Having said that, if you're at all on the fence I recommend coughing up the $$$ for the package rather than risking regret down the road because you wish you'd have ordered it. Nobody "needs" 3LT but Corvettes aren't about "need" anyway, right? Any Corvette is a lavish luxury; better to deck it out than to have regrets down the road.
In addition, I personally think the factory nav system is WAY cool. I'll never again buy a car without it. In order to order it in a Corvette, though, you must also order 3LT.
I have the 1SA/2LT package. For the stereo, it depends on what you compare it to. I have owned a C4, C5 and C6. The base stereo in the C6 is better than the bose sytem in the C4 or C5 in my opinion and I think the Bose system rocks! (I transplanted the Bose system into my car as an experiment). The seats are identical. On the 2006 with the smaller wheel, I don't think you will find the telescoping necessary. It would have been nice to have it in the 2005 because the bigger wheel lays out into you thighs if you like to keep the tilt down. The telescoping would bring it closer to your body and eased that issue. Had HUD, don't miss it. Cool gadget but not worth the extra $$ to me.
My 2LT has the perforated seats exactly the same as 3LT but not heated. I have heard both the 2LT and 3LT Bose systems. I think the 2LT may actually sound better. Often Bose is not really Bose. My 2004 Madaspeed Miata Bose was actually Panasonic. I think the 2006 Miata Bose is actually Clarion. Not sure what the situation is with the C6 "Bose".
Thanks for everyones input. I'm sold on the 2LT package because the Vette (IMO) already has too much electronic wizardry and doesn't need anymore as an option. I'd rather put the money into chrome wheels and other visual attributes.
On a last note, did anyone get to measure the size of the removable roof section? I just want to see if the extra top (buying 2 top option) will fit where I plan on storing it.

I will be ordering my C6 Coupe with the 2LT Package. I like the 2LT because I really prefer the Sport Seats with Adjustable Lumbar (which isn't included in the 1LT). Addtionally the 2LT has Side Air Bags (with will allow additional discount off insurance premium) and Cargo Luggage Shade (which I would buy anyway)
I considered the 3LT, but most of the additional features do not mean much to me. The Heads Up Display is neat, but two of my friends who have it don't even use it. The Bose Stereo interests me, but in reading alot of the reviews on this forum, people say the standard stereo in the 2LT sounds just as good (if not better).
If after getting the 2LT, I am not 100% pleased with the sterep performance, I will simply install new speakers (like MB Quart)
For me, in comparing the two packages, I could not justify the additonal $3000. I would rather use the $3000 toward performance upgrades (exhaust etc...)
Yes, Machine Silver. Spent considerable time at Kerbecks over the weekend, and had the opportunity to look at all the colors outside in the sunlight (as compared to an indoor showroom). The most amazing color in the sun is Monterey Red...unbelievable. Unfortunately, red isn't for me. Machine Silver with Transparent Roof was it! What I realized about the Machine Silver is that it does not reproduce well in photographs (looks grey). In person, out doors...it's a different story.
I also liked the Le Mans blue quite a bit. Personal taste, it had a little more colbalt than I would have liked.
I will write a summary of my purchasing experience over the next few days. Had an opportunity to work with two great dealers in Kerbeck's and Paramus Chevrolet
