So this is where all my old friends have gone.......
Do you still own that incredible TR Z06?
I was in a store with a buddy a couple days ago, picked up a Corvette Mag and I said to my friend "I know that car" and dam if it wasn't your brothers MY Z06 on the Cover. How Cool......
I could see your touches on that car......
The Z06 emblem on the front drivers side grille, that was your idea, I know it......
I'm gonna have to buy a C6 and hang here with all my old friends!
Liz, my 05 C6 has the base suspension, auto tranny. Although we have pretty good roads in TN, the base suspension still handles the occasional rough road very well indeed. I've put 13,500 miles on my DD in 14 months and I don't regret getting the base suspension at all.
In principle, an active suspension should be superior to any conventional suspension, regardless how stiff the latter is made. The Z51 option surely minimizes body roll in fast curves, but does this at the expense of a harsh ride. An active suspension, on the other hand, can be rather soft on the big bumps, but, at least in principle, keep the body of the car (almost) horizontal in fast curves as well. Now the question is: is the F55 capable of keeping the body (almost) horizontal in these situations? There might be even more sophisticated systems that this on the market, as, possible the system of Mercedes Benz.

I test drove a C6 with the base suspension. I would never buy one. You might as well buy an Impala if you want those chassis dynamics. Base and F55 are for cruiser sorts. That's OK if you want it but the Z51 is for sports car lovers.
Whatever you decide enjoy... now where's those legs baby?
