After doing my first oil change I tried to reset the oil life and it didnt reset to 100%. It reset set to 99% which I thought was weird. My C5 always went to 100%. I did it twice with the same results. The next day my check engine light came on. Scanned and pulled the code today and it had 2 code: IPC-U1000 and Radio-U1000. Also when scrolling thru my vital settings, fuel, air pressure, charging volts, etc...it sounds different. Never before did I hear and noise now I do!! I think there is someting going on between the control modules. Your thoughts...
I have changed the oil on my car twice...the DIC reset to 99% both times. I wouldn't worry about it; I don't think the codes have anything to do with oil life indicator.

Tolerances
Just like with mechanical devices, electronic devices are made to stay within engineered tolerances. Although manufacturers would like to make every item exactly the same, it would be cost prohibitive. The difference between 100% and 99% is really only 1%. And, since the readout is in whole percentage points the actual oil life may only be 99.9% or even 99.99%
The cars all come in from the factory with 2 or 3 miles on them and the oil is usually at 98%. I always thought it started at 99% and the Dyno test at the factory dropped it to 98%.
Correct. That's what the codes mean...something is wrong. The chimes for the DIC come out of the radio, and that's why they sound different. Take it to the dealer and let them check it out.
The U1000 code is a general computer bus communication error. There is nothing to worry about. Sometimes a message does not get handled properly and a module sets a code. If this was a regular event then it might be an issue.
Ask yourself, is there a problem with the vehicle? Then you dont need to worry.
I would not fret about 99 vs 100%. I have seen this before and it never was an issue.
