Default Visor Sticker...Help Please

I know there have been numerous threads on visor sticker removal... I went to the garage with Mama's hair dryer ready, to do it... Are you sure these babies come off cleanly? They look like they are VULCANIZED on to the visor! Is the visor material an label the same as on the C5's and C6's? Is '05 the same materials as the '06?

IMO they don't come off 100% clean. You will see some evidence they were there.

Do a search (including archived threads) with the word 'visor' and you will come up with more info.

Better than having the stickers on, but some evidence that they were there.

Hey Ed, can't you come up with some sort of cool overlay the same size as the current sticker? Something like the WARNING stickers that were sold on eBay that said something like "Do Not Lower Windows Above 120 MPH." Then we wouldn't have to worry about removing the old ones.

I would buy a set if they looked factory.

There will probably be some residue. Start by using the HIGH setting on the hair dryer. After you've peeled off the label, try cleaning the residue with Goo Gone or any auto store generic glue remover. Be sure to use a stiff brush. When you finally get it all off, there will be a slightly discolored area where it was, but after a couple of months, it will disappear.

So would I. I'd even use something that was just plain and matched the visor color. Anything to mask that gaudy sticker!!!!

I believe the "impossible to remove" stickers started with the 2001 or 2002 C5. Before that they were grip-and-rip. Too easy, so I bet the feds stepped in and said make them harder to get off and GM complied. The C6's stickers look like part of the fabric, but they are not. It is just a sticker that is glued on really well. The last car I tried to take them off of was my 2003 and I could never get all the glue off. I'd consider covering them with some good looking patch, if I were you. Better than destroying the visor. Come on Ed I know you can do it...

Has anyone tried using WD-40 to remove the glue? I ahve used it to remove a lot of glue, and also some ink from a leather seat it worked great on both.

To be honest I've only had met car for a little bit and work to much to do any mods, but I have a access to a color plottter which I could print any thing in full color on vinyl. If any one has the exact size they need and what they would want on the sticker I could help them with this.

I successfully removed them from my AE by taking my time and just peeling them off the best I could.

Then I used duct tape and dabbed it on the remaining adhesive. Keep replacing the tape as the "sticky" wears off quickly as you remove the sticker residue. This too took some time and effort but the end result is great.

Good Luck
