Default Question on Borla.....

Once again I am seeking the advice of my corvette forum peers....I so hate being incapable of decision-making....

I'm looking at getting the Borla Touring Mufflers (oval tip)....should I get the X-pipe too... (I'm not really in it for the hp...just the sound....)

Thanx!

From what I've managed to gather from my research on this topic:
1. X-Pipe reduces the amount of drone
2. X-Pipe reduces the amount of burbling sound when decelerating

I cant really confirm both on your particular setup but I do have the X-Pipe on the Stingers and I still get plenty of burbling (which I really like) and yes there is still some resonance between 1600-1800 rpm (its bearable and its an ON/OFF thing.. none below non above that rpm range) -

I've yet to find someone that didnt think it lowered the amount of resonance so I would do it just for that.. besides the cost of it will be a lot more if you do it afterwards (labor to remove and add the xpipe)

I have the touring with the X pipe, I have heard it both ways and the X pipe is an improvement.

I have the Borla Touring with x-pipe. I love the sound. Some drone 1500-1600, but not bothersome for me.

Same experience here and I've had both the sport and tour. Minimal drone with the tour and X pipe. Very prominant drone with the sport and X-pipe ....but it sounds really cool. If it was a weekend only car I would have kept the sport but for a DD the tour is just right. Great sound when you open it up but tolerable around town.

I have a Vert with Borla Aggressive, which includes the X pipe. Burbling sounds great, not real "poppy". Very minor resonance @1700. My only complaint are the tips. They're curled at end and allow moisture to accumulate. Very hard to keep sharp looking. But, I still wouldn't trade that awesome sound. Love 'em.
