need help

after 10 months my first errer"chech gas cap"
can you Access & read the codes,Diagnastic Display mode???
like you can on the C 5

I would imagine all it is is that last time you got gas the cap was not tightened properly. Take it off, put it back on and go thru several clicks to tighten. I bet that clears the code. Good luck

Sorry, you can't access the codes on the C6 as you could on the C5.

did not work, did that first.cleared with reset button, but it returns everytime, thankz

and the manual says...

It may take several trips to clear this message after correctly installing the gas cap. Had the same thing after buying gas, removed and replaced the gas cap, but it was two days later till gone.

After more then a week of "check gas cap"at every start up.
Monday I went to the dealer,They scanned for codes No codes.
did a Evap Test "System Cap seal failed" smoke test,Leaking~
replaced Cap....

Go to Walmart, buy the Innnova model 3030 OBD11 code reader for $69. It's CAN ready and you will be able to read and erase all codes on the C6 and any car made after 1996.
