93 in Dallas and the car was in the sun all day. It took forever to cool it down on the drive home. I finally had to set both sides to 60 and turn the fan to max. On Auto the fan cut back to almost nothing in a couple minutes even though the temp inside was still high even when it was set at 60 degrees. My C5s would blast me out and cool off in a couple miles, even in 100+ temps. I was still hot after 5 miles before I took it off manual. Do I have a problem or is that just the way it works?
Sounds like something's not right with your A/C. On a warm day here in mid-TN (80 deg. or more, usually), my A/C will go into recirculation mode automatically if I've got the unit on AUTO. The fan will go to high speed and stay there until the recirculation mode cuts off, about 3 to 4 minutes after it came on. I know it's in recirculation mode, because the light on that button will come on.
The temp. in the cabin doesn't have to get very high to trigger this recirculation mode. Sometimes it stays on longer than at other times, but it nearly always comes on if the cabin is very warm at all.
