Clearly a number of people have had trouble with their C6 batteries. The problem I have with the notion of DBS is that it does not occur on all C6s, or even a lot of C6s. Most of us have not had problems with the battery. If door lights, Onstar, XM, relay 46, and other items noted were the culprits everyone would have DBS. I know for those of you who have suffered with this multiple times there is a real mystery going on. But why so few?
Has anyone thought about the little red lights on the top of the door that are for the locks? Do they blink all the time even when the car is off?
No. They only light when unlocking or locking the car. Besides, they don't draw enough current to discharge the battery in 48 hours.
Also, what about the XM. The antena is always revieving a signal even when the car is off. Same w/ the OnStar.
The XM antenna is powered off when the radio and the XM module power off. OnStar is still active when the car is turned off, that's how they can unlock your car. But if OnStar were the culprit, automatics would be having DBS at the same frequency as manuals, and cars without OnStar wouldn't have DBS. But autos don't suffer DBS (at least darn few autos with dead batteries have been reported, and are likely due to other causes), and manual cars without OnStar are reporting DBS.

Hopefully the mystery can be solved. I have not had a problem in the year I've owned my mn6, but my mind would rest alot easier if the cause could be identified.
