Maybe I'm just lucky, or maybe it's our generally warm climate that saves me.
Yeah, you have been lucky indeed.

Polls on '06 battery failure shows significant failure rates for MN6 and A6, the specifics have not yet been looked into much. That may be a good next step.

Parking in reverse should have no bearing on '06 battery failure. If it happens again have the car and battery checked out.

Thats part of why I am thinking that a significant part, not all, of the problem, is the batteries themselves.

In my other poll, we had a good number of people who switched batteries and had no further problems.

I lost my C5 battery because my trickle charger was not grounded well enough. C5&C6 are very difficult to find a GOOD ground. Did you go straight to the terminals with your trickle charger? I have had 0 problems when I grounded straight to the battery. My charger has a high speed flicker when fully charged. I ran a small plug out of the hood on passenger side. plug charger in the plug for garage door opener. Takes 2 seconds to plug in. I had 2 c5s both were totally dead if they sat 2 weeks. I decided to solve it myself.

I agree, but I thought WTH, it can't hurt.
Anyway, after a lengthy ride today, she should be fully charged up. I'm gonna be traveling for a least a week; so she'll sit, we'll see what happens in a week or so.
