Default 2007s!

Hi,

I read a post somewhere about the dates for the 2007s. When do we find out what's to come? When would they be ready?

I know somebody knows the answer to this.

Thanks a million!

June 27th is the first day they start to build the 07s.

Probably not unti May before we find out about any upgrades for 07.

A lot of information will be available at the Birthday Bash, April 21-23.

Build starts June 27 with first deliveries to dealers in mid July.

Do any of you folks know if there is a history of Chevy sharing accurate/complete details about the next year's model at this Bash, or if this is more of a hope expressed here?

It seems from this post that it might be possible to check the information about '07's on April 23, and still have time to order a built-to-order '06 if the changes aren't to your liking. True?

The thought of anyone in business releasing information that could possibly hinder the remaining run of a product due to some people wanting to wait for the upgrades does seem remote.

Information like that seems like it woujld only hurt the supplier. What possible benefit would the supplier receive for releasing info like this?

I agree with water boy, but the "need to know" is great.

I would get the '06, since the current internet rumor is that the only changes are mandatory OnStar and a new orange paint color to replace DSOM. Since I want a 6-speed manual, Z51, no Nav, no XM, and no OnStar, looks like I'll order a Killer Kerbeck deal '06.

Then a NEWER internet rumor came along that the '08 C6 coupe & vert will have 425hp or 435hp (depending on which internet rumor you choose) so skipping the '07 for the '08 rears its ugly head. You can drive yourself nuts... or you could be dead before you ever get the C6!

A few extra HP would be a nice trick! If Onstar is mandatory, I wonder if their going to go to the Bluetooth-Onstar combo that Acura uses??!! It'd be fabulous.

Frankly - I have to believe that they're coming out w/an iPod connection! I just can't believe it'd be missing.

Of course - there's always the dream of a pop-top Z06!!!

Information has been available at the Birthday Bash about the next model year since 2001 if I remember correctly. They even show the cars in the new colors. The C5/C6 Birthday Bash draws a large crowd of people who have recent Corvettes and trade often. Team Corvette likes to take care of those who are most likely to buy.

What tipped you off that they were '07s?

BTW, the June 27th date is NOT . If indeed you saw '07s, they definitely were not regular production models, but pre-production prototypes. It's a fact that regular production of '06s runs through June 26th and regular production '07s begin the next day.

I'm curious also as to how you knew they were 2007s.

No flame here, just curious.

They actually put signs on them saying they are 2007's. Normal procedure this time of year.

yes, you are correct. the 27th is the date. The '07's comin down the line now are the series of test mules and show models. but, they are building them. there is no way to distinguish between '06 and '07. only way is to check the VIN (per our tour guide) They also had a few of the European models. Pretty cool! wish we had the option on taillights.

I was at the Frankfurt Auto Show this past September and saw Euro versions of a coupe, convertible, and Z06. I'm not crazy about the taillights but coming out of 2 Audis before getting my C6 I wish we had the headlight washers and side fender-mounted turn signal repeaters.

The general concensus seems to be that there will be almost no changes for '07. If this is the case and the car is nearly identical why would they need preproduction test cars to prove the new build?

What I am angling for here is some kind of validation that there will be some real changes for '07 and that's why they need to do a test build?
