Transparent Top TSB

There is a TSB for this, #05-08-59-003B, document ID #1747575. My dealer was right on top of this, and I had the warranty work done this morning. It is a quick easy fix, requiring some spacers which your dealer will probably have to order. The labor is to "Replace Plastic Guide In Striker (left and Right)" Time alloted, .2. The casue of the problem, according to the TSB is "the roof guide pins may have elongated the plastic guides."
Worked like a charm, and no longer any noises or problems. Hope this helps.

Just ranting about Chevy and not the car. I'm in love with my C6, therefore I'm a bit touchy when it comes to anything going wrong with her.
Gentlemen:
I went to the local dealership today and learned the following:
The TSB# is now 05-08-59-003B which supersedes the 05-08-59-003A.
003B was issued 1/4/06 and, as noted in Wing's original post, is document ID# 1747575.
Correction now lists the following (I suspect that only the P/N's have changed with new & improved parts):
Replace the left and right plastic guide in the roof latch striker following the procedure below. (Note that the latch is on the headliner, next to the "A" pillar.)
1. Unlatch the roof and remove the roof.
2. With a small screw driver, unlock the fingers of the guide from the striker and discard them.
3. Install the new plastic guides into the striker.
4. Install the roof.
Parts Information
P/N Description Qty
19120702 Spacer, RF Lift Off Pnl/wdo Frt Stkr (LH) 1
19121172 Spacer, RF Lift Off Pnl/wdo Frt Stkr (RH) 1
Warranty Information
For vehicles repaired under warranty, use:
Labor Operation Description Labor Time
B9797* Replace Plastic Guide In Striker (L & R) 0.2 hr
* This labor operation is for bulletin use only. It will not be published in the Labor Time Guide.
The referenced parts were kind of pricey to buy outright (like $24 each at list, could research at http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/ for better $ probably = $41.59 delivered), so I scheduled this relatively simple task for warranty (I'll observe the procedure - should take 15 min. or less + I'll have the top off, maybe even take the old guides out, so all I have to do at the dealership is pop the new ones in there).

Great write-up!!! Thanks for taking the time to put all of this out here for us. I have this same problem with my 05. I have been using a silicone spray to keep the creaking down, but the fix will be a nice change.
So in this case if you have no symptoms of a bad transparent top don't mess with it or send it in since this is a TSB if a problem occurs with the transparent top. In other words if it ain't broke don't fix it. If you do send it in to dealership it isn't free you will be charged $$$
It would seem to me that we should be more concerned with recalls than TSB's unless you have a problem and there is a TSB for that problem. There could be 100 TSB's on a car and you may luck out not having any problems in regards to that TSB fix.

The lexan top I bought after the fact makes all sorts of noise, mostly from the "B pillar" just over my left shoulder. However the TSB states "Replace the left and right plastic guide in the roof latch striker. (Note that the latch is on the headliner, next to the "A" pillar.)
Where does most of the noise comes from? The A or B pillars?
I'm taking mine in when I do my next oil change and I'm hoping the TSB cures my noise problem. My solid panel is tight and noise free.

I have an 05 and haven't experienced any bad stuff.
